How you’ll contribute: 
As an Actuarial Associate and being a part of the Actuarial Development Program, you’ll be responsible for assisting with modeling efforts, analysis of current and future Annuity products, ensuring modeling consistency across teams, and on occasion assisting with rate setting and new business reporting. The focus will be on maintaining and coordinating consistency of all current and future Life and Annuity pricing models. Additionally, in this role, you will gain exposure to and interact with other areas across the Company including Model Risk Management, Investments, Valuation, and Product Development.

 

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Assist in varied aspects of modeling including building, updating, running, and validating the stochastic models.
  • Enhance efficiency and capabilities of existing models and supporting Python scripts.
  • Perform attribution analysis for model and script changes, including analysis of results, thorough documentation, and effective communication of results to management.
  • Assist with Model Governance best practices and communicate across teams to ensure consistent modeling methods.
  • Monitor product profitability metrics based on actual sales as well as perform sensitivity analysis around assumption updates and market changes.
  • Keep, develop, and update strong documentation on modeling updates, analysis performed, and process changes.

 

We’re looking for people who have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or other similarly technical field
  • Completed 4 preliminary actuarial exams for the Society of Actuaries
  • Actively pursuing ASA designation with the Society of Actuaries
  • Strong programming skills with experience with Python, R, VBA, C++, or similar languages 
  • Exposure to actuarial modeling software such as Aon PathWise, FIS Prophet, or GGY-Axis desirable
  • Relevant work experience with attributing, and validating models is preferred
  • Can adjust work resources and deadlines in response to changing business priorities
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate effectively to a non-technical audience
  • Highly proficient with Excel and other MS Office products

  • Compensation – Level and salary to be commensurate with exam progress. 
    • Associate Level (4+ Exams): Base salary ranging from $80,000 to $93,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
