Actuarial Consultant II (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you’ll contribute:
As an Actuarial Consultant II, you’ll be responsible for implementing and model changes pertaining to the Variable Annuity and RILA products, using best-in-class modeling standards. These models are written in the Pathwise environment which utilizes python. This position supports an essential function which will provide assurance to model users of the validity and transparency of model results for use in financial statements, and for analysis and risk management purposes
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Develop models for existing Variable Annuity products. Involvement encompasses creating and building, updating, enhancing, running, and validating the models.
- Analyze model results, including reconciling and attributing changes, communicating results to management, and creating detailed documentation
- Implement and test new software releases, library updates, new products, new regulatory requirements, and shared table changes in the Pathwise environment
- Optimize models to follow coding standards and improve performance
- Stage model inputs using data conversion systems
We’re looking for people who have:
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation preferred.
- 4+ years of actuarial experience in an insurance company, consulting, or software company setting.
- 2+ years of experience in actuarial modeling design and development
- 2+ years of Pathwise model development or Python coding strongly preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Conceptual and analytical skills to develop solutions to complex problems.
- Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn

- Compensation – Base salary ranging from $100,000 - $125,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
