Actuarial Systems Developer (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Fully Remote)

Where you’ll work:
Our hybrid workplace model offers the freedom to work fully remote or occasionally in one of our offices. This is a remote position with a hybrid option for candidates based in Charlotte, North Carolina.  


How you’ll contribute:
As an Actuarial Systems Developer you’ll serve as a data systems analyst conduit between business partners, Actuarial IT development team and valuation business partners. Performs data analysis and provide daily updates; understands and expands on the actuarial end to end data flow and functionality.


In this role, you’ll get to:
•    Reviews, analyzes and modifies large scale system projects
•    Maintains records to document program development and revision
•    Participate in development on project deliverables
•    Prioritizes problems, incidents and service requests
•    Identifies and implements operating efficiency solutions
•    Work with resources (on- or off-shore) on projects
•    Works with XMLs, SQL queries and PowerShell scripts
•    Communicates with assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks
•    Participate on technology project teams as key data subject matter expert 
•    Produce and document code to specifications using agreed standards and processes
•    Maintain productive working relationships with all business, technology partners and third-party vendors
•    Resolves project issues through direct action or escalation when appropriate
•    Other duties as required 


We’re looking for people who have: 
•    2+ years of formal training or on the job software development experience 
•    Experience working with XML, SQL, PowerShell
•    Understanding of enterprise technical landscape (insurance background a plus)
•    Moderate data analysis skills (finance/actuarial preferred)
•    Excellent communicator, conflict and problem solver
•    Ability to successfully interface and partner with all roles of technical solution stand up projects and programs
•    Self-driven ability to understand, uncover, resolve and recommend options to solve complex business issues with technology solutions
•    Software development methodology experience (agile and/or waterfall)
•    Understanding of application development and/or data analysis 
•    Passion for innovation and dedication to enterprise technology development objectives
•    Flexible team player with proven track record driving and delivering successful technology solutions

•    Compensation – Base salary ranging from $82,000.00 to $102,000.00 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results
