How you’ll contribute:

As a Life Insurance and LTC Client Consultant, you will perform duties related to the new business and underwriting support of applications for individual life insurance policies. Additionally, you will interview and provide technical support to customers during the application process. You will also review, and data collect applications for individual life insurance.

 

In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Handle incoming calls from financial advisors and clients to provide technical support during the Life New Business electronic application process.        
  • Manage a pipeline of pending Life New Business applications to ensure there are no process delays or service errors and takes ownership and accountability of any issues until resolution is complete.
  • Create and provide basic product illustrations on pending new business applications as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal sales partners, vendors and internal colleagues to support the fulfillment of an efficient customer experience as it relates to the underwriting new or inforce business and responds to complex inquiries as needed. 
  • Apply time management skills to prioritize deadlines appropriately.
  • Interact daily with customers to gather information, communicate decisions and courses of action.
  • Execute sound decision making and judgment by having the confidence to make decisions within their authority, and know when to use their judgment on unique situations and when to escalate the situation to management.
  • Mentor Life Insurance and LTC Client Consultant associates that are new to the role, as directed by your leader.
  • Conduct personal history interviews and with customers as it relates to the application processes.
  • Answer questions to ensure that all supporting forms and underwriting requirements are complete with proper signatures.
  • Order and trace missing underwriting requirements including attending physician statements, medical test results, customer reports, etc. 
  • Review sales illustrations from sales representatives for completeness and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain detailed documentation on all cases being underwritten. 
  • Update new business and underwriting systems and other databases with underwriting status and requirements. 
  • Create amendments, adverse underwriting decision and other letters as needed. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

 

We’re looking for people who have:

  • An undergraduate degree (preferred)
  • 3+ years of relevant business experience in the financial services industry
  • A working knowledge of the end-to-end process of life insurance applications and post issue underwriting transactions
  • Displayed strong attention to detail and followed business processes correctly, while anticipating and understanding the downstream impact and ensuring high quality the first time/every time.
  • Effectively resolved problems, has organizational skills, detail oriented and uses sound business judgement.
  • Successfully used excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely by telephone and email.
  • Worked with a sense of urgency, accountability and ownership; results driven
  • Adapted to changes in business processes, work priorities and work environment
  • Successful candidates must actively participate in their development by taking relevant industry coursework annually with management approval

  • Compensation – Base salary ranging from $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
