Role Value Proposition:

The Risk Management Associate will report to the Leader of Governance and Operational Risk within the Corporate Risk Management department.  The candidate will be responsible for working with business leaders across the organization to identify, assess, monitor, and manage key operational risks. The candidate will work in a team-based environment and have opportunities to work with risk owners and departments across the Company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute project work plans and collaborate with business units on supporting the Risk Management framework and processes.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining risk management standards, promote a risk-aware culture and ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practice.
  • Work with team members to ensure risk management information is analyzed and captured in OpenPages, the Company’s GRC tool.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic summary risk reports to various risk management governing bodies (e.g. senior leadership team, risk committees and working groups, Board of Directors, etc.)
  • Collaborate with business units, internal audit, and other risk functions to provide appropriate guidance, oversight, and training on operational and model risk management.


Essential Business Experience:

  • Degree in a discipline related to Risk Management or Finance.
  • 5+ years of work experience in an insurance or financial services company, or consulting firm servicing similar clients
  • Proven experience in project management and understanding of complex business processes, risks and controls.
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow through on completion of high-profile projects.
  • Experience in drafting reports and presentations
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to details
  • Effective in both writing and communication
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate successfully
  • Proactive and self-motivated, adapt and thrive in dynamic changing situations
