Senior Actuarial Associate (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you’ll contribute:
As a Senior Actuarial Associate II, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Variable Annuity (VA) valuation team and will be responsible for enhancing the future state production process as well as providing insights into the VA reserves. This individual will work across departments, such as model development, annuity pricing and IT to ensure enhancements and maintenance of the model are implemented accurately.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Support the model development team to aid with enhancements and maintenance of VA Prophet model.
- Review, update, quantify and analyze impacts of the annual VA assumption updates for Statutory and GAAP reserves.
- Develop tools and spreadsheets to support analysis on reserve movements.
- Create and maintain strong documentation on testing results, decisions made, and new processes implemented.
- Respond to requests from risk, internal audit, and external audit on the VA Prophet model.
We’re looking for people who have:
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science or related fields.
- ASA designation with Society of Actuaries is required.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience in the related field.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, in particular MS Excel and MS Access.
- Exposure to any modern actuarial software (Prophet, MG ALFA, etc.) a plus.
- Knowledge of variable annuities a plus.
- Positive attitude and ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Able to balance multiple projects and adjust well to shifting project priorities.

- Compensation – Base salary ranging from $110,000 - $125,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
