Senior Actuarial Consultant (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Morristown, NJ (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you’ll contribute: 
As a Senior Actuarial Consultant, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Life Valuation testing team and be responsible for the financial reporting of Traditional and Non-Traditional Life products in the Life Valuation area. Analyzing the results of GAAP calculations, maintaining the Prophet valuation tables, assisting in the system conversion efforts, and delivering required and ad-hoc reporting to various stakeholders.  Key stakeholders include controllers, reinsurance, IT, and the GAAP management reporting team.


In this role, you’ll get to:

  • Report results of GAAP calculations. Verify and test GAAP projections. 
  • Perform quarterly GAAP calculations.  Explain variances and interpret financial trends.  
  • Assist in the conversion of various admin systems to DXC
  • Modify validation models to assist various ad-hoc analyses.
  • Prepare actuarial portions of the financial statements and the federal income tax.
  • Answer ad-hoc questions pertaining to GAAP.
  • Respond to requests from regulators, auditors, and accountants.


We’re looking for people who have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Actuarial Science
  • 4+ Years of experience in an actuarial or related role, preferably in pricing, valuation, or projections.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, in particular MS Excel and MS Access
  • Exposure to any modern actuarial software (Prophet, MG ALFA, etc.) a plus
  • Positive attitude and ability to work with others in a team environment
