Senior Asset Modeling Consultant (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you’ll contribute:
As a Senior Asset Modeling Consultant, reporting to Director of Asset Projections, you will be the lead analyst responsible for the projection of general account assets for regulatory, operational, risk management, and strategic purposes. As a key contributor within the Asset Projections group of Investments ALM, you will assist Actuarial in their valuation and projection of reserves and regulatory capital while aiding in efforts to maximize statutory distributable earnings. You will partner with numerous areas within Brighthouse to help deliver results to important stakeholders including Appointed Actuaries, regulatory authorities, rating agencies, and the Senior Leadership Team.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Maintain/operate/improve asset modeling platform used for projecting Insurance Company general account assets
- Deliver accurate and efficient asset projections to internal business partners including Actuarial, Treasury, and Finance in support of regulatory testing, capital, valuation, pricing, and planning
- Partner and work collaboratively within the organization to help identify executable strategies that optimize results/increase statutory distributable earnings while mitigating/vetting unintended consequences
- Develop process to monitor deltas in asset projections between valuation dates to ensure integrity, detect drivers of variances, and provide evidence for audit purposes
- Work with IT to identify and execute opportunities to streamline and automate business processes
- Help develop and defend asset projection assumptions for regulatory modeling frameworks
- Support the evaluation/implementation of asset projection functionality directly into downstream actuarial asset liability systems including FIS Prophet ALS
We’re looking for people who have:
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- In-depth understanding of fixed income, derivatives, and alternative asset classes
- 7+ years of related quantitative modeling experience in insurance/finance industry
- Exposure to investment/ALM systems including FIS Prophet ALS, BondEdge/IPA, FactSet, Aladdin, QRM, Conning, NUMERIX/PolyPaths, or equivalent
- Demonstrated data/coding abilities in Python to handle large datasets and develop solutions/analyses from scratch
- Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Ability to balance many competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Undergraduate degree in related discipline required, advanced degree and/or CFA/actuarial/other designation a plus

- Compensation – Base salary ranging from $135,000 - $165,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
