Sr. Financial Analyst (Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) or Remote)

How you’ll contribute:
As a Sr. Financial Analyst you will drive the GAAP Footnotes and SOX/Audit processes for the actuarial valuation department. This entails gathering data from the valuation teams, meeting deadlines for quarterly reporting, finding efficiencies in quarterly reporting and managing the department’s SOX and Audit requests. This role will work with various stakeholders such as Valuation actuaries, Controllers Department, Technical Accounting, SEC Department, Internal Audit and FCD Departments. This role will perform monthly and quarterly tasks, work effectively and diligently to resolve issues, and work on ad-hoc projects as assigned. The successful candidate will blend a solid foundational financial skillset with the desire and ability to understand the businesses we support.
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Own the GAAP footnote process for Actuarial team, which entails gathering data from various teams, analyzing the data, submitting within prescribed timelines
- Own the SOX documentation process for Actuarial Valuation team
- Manage quarterly Audit Requests for Actuarial Valuation team
- Complete Quarterly GAAP Reconciliations
- Research and complete analysis on issues found in Valuation and ledger reconciliations
- Research GAAP requirements for footnotes and disclosures
- Support STAT processes as needed
- Provide and implement recommendations for process efficiencies in both automated and manual areas
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with our Business Partners
- Lead process improvement opportunities
- Ad-hoc requests and business partnering with key stakeholders (accounting, finance, audit, etc.)
We’re looking for people who have:
- BA/BS degree, preferably in Finance or Accounting
- 2+ years of financial analysis or accounting experience required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (macros, pivot tables and advanced formulas)
- Experience with financial reporting systems (SAP preferred)
- Effective business analytical abilities, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
- Creates Partnership within the actuarial department to successfully drive business objectives
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks under aggressive timelines
- Self-motivated with the ability to take the initiative to make changes

- Compensation – Base salary ranging from $80,000 - $90,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
